These are works I created during a workshop at Wai-te-ata Press in Wellington. The process of having the cases of fonts, placing each individual letter in the galley, inking the type and using the press to roll the paper through to get one print of the composition really gave me an appreciation to the art of letterpress. Being able to use the hands-on technique of metal type and presses was a great experience and increased my skills and understanding of typography and layout. I very much enjoyed the process and the crafted look of the final products and look forward to using letterpress in the future.
