Moderna Museet – Gabriel Orozco 2014

Moderna Museet in Stockholm comissioned Ritator to create an identity for the Gabriel Orozco exhibition, open during the spring 2014. Gabriel Orozco, was born in Mexico in 1962 and lives in Paris, New York and Mexico City. He is one of the most widely recognised artists of his generation but has not been shown in the Nordic countries until now. Orozco’s reputation has been growing steadily since the late-1980s, and his oeuvre paved the way for a new form of conceptualism that embraces both deep contemplation and precise craftsmanship.

La DS from 1993 (a radically compressed Citroën car), was in focus when creating the exhibition identity and campaign design. With details from the DS Cornaline blueprints, Ritator made graphic elements that were exploded from their original positions and freely floating over the identity applications. The use of silver and maroon made the identity unified and made it easy to combine with images.
