By placing the images of Maitreya Buddha (Laughing Buddha) in a seemingly futuristic metropolitan setting, I experimented with the feeling it gives. Superimposing a famed grin over Buddha's own, coupled with figures laughing at him in turn, I seek to explore the questionable folklore culture of worshippers rubbing his belly for good luck.
