HEX-3 is the result of a semester long interdisciplinary rapid prototyping course taught at

Wentworth Institute of Technology's Manufacturing Center.

 

Groups of seven (four mechanical engineers and three industrial designers) were given a DJI Tuned Propulsion System with which they had to design and manufacture a fully functioning hexacopter using seven rapid prototyping processes.

 

Processes include: laser cutting, machining, turning, CNC, resin casting, vacuum forming and 3D printing.

 

As the primary creative director and assistant maker, my contributions included sketching and brainstorming, aesthetic refinement, vacuum forming, CNC mold making, resin casting and photographing.
