"HOME" is a book about homeless life, it is made up of 3 volumes. I interviewed staff, volunteers, residents and former residents of a homeless hostel to create a book about what causes homelessness, what homeless life is like and what help and services are available. The book was designed to raise awareness of homelessness, to show the diversity of people who are or have suffered and to educate and engage the wider public.  
 

The making of this book has taught me a lot about book structure, layout and typography. I used Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop to make the book. 300 copies of the book were printed and are currently being sold to help raise money for the Methodist City Mission Men's Hostel.

 

Above are my concept designs for the book cover. These were designed using Adobe Illustrator. The thought behind the designs was simplicity and emptiness reflecting what homeless life can be like.
