Travel Brochure and Magazine Article

For a final project, I had to write a travel brochure about a chosen area. I was given the task of writing an article about an attraction in my chosen area for Conde Nast Traveler, a high end travel magazine. After writing the magazine article, I had to send the text to a team of Italian students who would translate the full text and captions into Italian.
I chose to write about Mystic, Connecticut, focusing on the Mystic Seaport as the attraction. I bought an issue of Conde Nast Traveler in order to familiarize myself with themagazine layout and the language used in their articles. I found my Italian teammates on Facebook and introduced myself to them to break the ice. I encouraged them to share information about themselves. This helped us understand that despite the fact that we were from different countries, we had many similarities as students and teenagers. We agreed to use email to communicate about the project. After I finished the English text, I immediately sent it to my team. I helped them understand words and phrases by supplying them with definitions and pictures. I organized my magazine layout to accommodate for extra words in the Italian translated text.
I created the brochure and magazine article using InDesign. I edited the pictures in both projects in Adobe Photoshop.
