iJusi magazine issue #30 'Pencil on Pretoria'

We had to create an image/drawing based on Pretoria in pencil that told a story about the city that was interesting. This drawing would then be up for selection to be published in the iJusi issue #30 titled
'Pencil on Pretoria.'
Concept: My drawings were of an old street in Pretoria that was formerly known as 'Kerk Street' . I chose to do two drawings of the same street however I changed the street name in the second one to 'Stanza Bopape Street'. The idea behind this was that although so much of time has passed and things have changed at the same time everything else is still the same. This speaks about South Africa and Pretoria politically as we did go through a period where all the street names were changed but just because the name changed didn't mean that the street did. Also by having two images one below the other it was in a format that referred to the childs game
'Spot the Difference'.
These drawings will be published in the iJusi magazine issue #30 'Pencil on Pretoria' and will be exhibited in the Pretoria Art Gallery as well as MOMA (the Museum of Modern Art) in San Francisco.
