Personal Logo Project

Below I am showing my process in which I took in order to get from ideas and sketches to my finished look of a textured and well defined logo. Since the project went well beyond my expectations, I have started to use it as a identity for my work as a graphic design and photographer. I couldn't be more pleased with this project.
Sketches of logos, page 1.

Researched typography with the idea of simple colors and minimal space. Wanted something "natural and free flowing".

Picked out my two favorite designs from the first set of sketches and expanded a little more on the ideas.
Process Design of the Personal Logo

I created the image using Illustrator and started playing around with how it looks in different sizes. Then I started to play around with the idea of it possibly being printed in one color and then later on, in three colors.
The logo in color. I wanted the colors were used to create the natural feeling. I really liked how minimalistic it was and therefore wanted to stick with the idea of a "simple, yet natural" look.
The next step in the project was to then use the logo to create a mockup for a small business. I created the mockup in conjunction with Photoshop.
After the project was turned in and a few months passed by, I decided to add just one more element to the logo- a textured layer to help create a sense of balance and naturalness.
