Seven Devils Lake (Idaho side of Hell's Canyon)

While fooling with my coffee press in the near dark my wife came out of the tent and said "look behind you". This was what she saw. It only lasted a minute and but I was able to catch a few.
The burned whitebark pines everywhere on the trail up to Heavens Gate fire tower are scary and a reminder that this is Hell's Canyon
From the fire tower at Heaven's Gate you can look beyond the five devils across Hell's Canyon to Oregon on the left.  You can also see Montana and Washington from this lookout. The Hat Point, Orgeon lookout (just out of this frame on the left) is 8 miles across and 250 miles by car.
