Armada Skatepark
Community skatepark
Armada is a small town of about 1500 people, about an hour north of Detroit. It's a town where I spent practically my whole childhood in, referring back to my fond memories of riding my GT Dyno bike with my friends all over town. During those day we were one of the nuisances of the town, riding up and down the sidewalks, jumping off of ledges, flying across streets, there was a limited amount of places to hang out. That was Ten years ago, now today the problem still exists, but this time a local group called "The Armada Board and Bike" has taken action on the problem which has grown extensively due to the increased popularity in extreme sports.

The project the group is undertaking calls for creating a skatepark for the local community to create an area that will channel these activities away from the general public and into a space suited for their activities. Through meetings and online discussions, I've collaborated with the group on the design of the skatepark. After going through of series of designs we came up with our conceptual plan, this plan was then taken to a firm that specialized in the design of skateparks (Hardcore Shotcrete Skateparks) where they finalized the design and costs.

As of now, we are currently in the process of designing a Founders Wall / signage for the park where our sponsors will be recognized for their contributions.
FOUNDERS WALL
The founders wall is currently designed with concrete form. The name of the park on top and the bottom outlining the main sponsor of our park. On the end is a bracketed steel framing where transparent plaques will be inserted to recognize the other sponsors. The size of the plaques will vary upon the size of the donation received by that particular party.
