The photographer and artist Aitor Ortiz (www.aitor-ortiz.com) was working on a new exhibition to be called Muros de Luz (Walls of Light) and asked me to work along with him on developing quick photorealistic sketches of space within the impressive structure of a quarry in the Basque Country. The exercise proved to be, above all, a fun experience where, as an architect, I could free myself from the everyday life restrictions, in the form of city codes, structural restrictions, budget, and what not. However, it was the simplicity of the spaces which made the experience specially enriching and powerful. The images included are a few examples of what went on for a few months and became an exhition which has and still is travelling around the world in some of the best galleries and museums of art.
