Family Guides
Chrysler Museum of Art
This is a set of family-oriented flyers created specifically to target families and their children who visit the Chrysler Museum of Art. Each individual piece covers a different subject area, and provides an activity for the family to accomplish by searching for and identifying various pieces of art throughout the museum galleries. The front provides a map as a basic guide, and the reverse outlines the actual pieces the family members are tasked to identify, along with space for their answers to be written or drawn, depending on the subject matter.
The series as a whole was above all designed to be intuitive, so that the reader would first focus on the instructions.  The hierarchy of the large and small circle helped the reader focus on the information critical to accomplishing the tasks. For the Animals design, which was directed specifically at children, a vivid color palette was chosen, to create interest and motivate them.  The other two designs encompass both children and adults alike.  The colors are more subtle, but still stand out.  The circle elements are repeated on the back, furthering the consistency of the design.
