This painting was the back piece for the second issue of the self-published comic anthology BCWYWF (or, Be Careful What You Wish For) The theme of the issue is adulthood, and the difficulties therein. This piece is about my own personal difficulties with "juggling" all the responsibilities of my adult life. The metaphor of juggling has become quite a cliché, especially with mothers. I wanted to use that image even if it's overused because the reason it's become a cliché is that so many women feel this way, including myself. I painted my own three children as famous child characters in order to represent different difficulties or worries we have with our children. They also just remind me of those characters. I tried to keep everything else in the painting as iconic as possible.
I used mostly brush with a little bit of pen. Finished up in photoshop.
