Decadence is a project about the different stages experienced by a person while trying to escape the burdening reality of everyday life.
The subject crawls out of his ordinary self and becomes his alter ego, a performer who acts uninhibited in front of the camera, but ends in decline and loses his identity.
This is a story about interior chaos, beauty and destruction. It’s about the human duality which blooms in a warped version of reality and falls apart again and again.
The subject’s feelings are always in flux, his eyes glow, and things get in and out of his control while he experiences physical and mental disintegration, personal catastrophe as well as kindness and a chance for redemption.

Decadence was created using only analog techniques. The images were shot on Kodak T-Max 100 ASA film and augmented with a needle and a magnifying glass. Scroll down for a short making of video.
