I was given two numbers (9, 22) and I had to go to the library, choose a random aisle, and begin my journey! At first, I had to make 9 steps, close my eyes, and choose a random book from the aisle, and then, make 22 more steps and choose a second book.
Books: ‘Yves Saint Laurent Style’ and ‘I am plastic, too’
Using these two books as my inspiration and material I had tocreate something new.
So I designed a book, visualizing a possible journey that two books can take you, and how two different and random things can be connected. Also, I created the animated version of the book.

Comparing the dimensions of the books
‘Yves Saint Laurent Style’ book page 9, every 9 words pick out the specific word. ‘I am plastic, too’ page 22, every 22 words pick out the specific word.
Using only those words, I made a new sentence. Then, I picked the word ‘world’ and counted all the countries that are mentioned in both books. I designed a map, showing information about what countries are mentioned in each book, and what countries are mentioned in both books.
6 countries are mentioned in both books. So I took number 6, and opened both books in page six to compare the pages and colours.
Then I closed the books, to compare the colours on the front covers.
After comparing the colours of the front covers, I counted the letters of each, and found out that on ‘Yves Saint Laurent Style’ front cover are 31 letters and the ‘I am plastic, too’ front cover 63 letters.
94 letters in total, so made a graph, showing the letter that is used the most till the letter that is used least. After this, I opened both books on page 94.
No characters on page94 of the book ‘Yves Saint Laurent Style’, and 760 characters on page 94 of ‘I am plastic, too’ – 580 letters, 172 symbols and 8 numbers.
