The project revolves around post-sensationalism awareness, where based on my research , I found that a big percentage of people are actually aware of the problem. To respond to that result I want to address the problem from a different angle of approach. Instead of campaigning against sensationalism, I want to stress the project on how can we embrace the ethical journalism in our lives.
And the answer is creating a platform to expand the craft of citizen journalism into something that is trustworthy and credible; an alternative choice for the general public.
The platform is called Co-Journal, a platform where a community can create their own real, printed newspaper free of hassle.
Digital Platform
Users can nominate their community by Signing Up online. In order to be approved users must have a commitment of a view subscribers to be approved as a full time online publication, free of charge.
Users would be given a 30 day trial run to get the minimum subscriber they need to be approved, and users would receive an extensive media ethics training upon approval.
Journalistic App
After signing up, users would gain access to Co-Journal's Journalism App, where tools are provided to help people with whatever kind of citizen journalism they would like to do.
Media Kit
Before starting the production of the community newspaper, users would be given a training in journalism, these are the kit to be used at training.
Newspaper / Publication Template
The unique selling point of this platform is that, at a certain point users are able to step up to the next level by producing their own printed newspaper, either using a template provided by the website or self design, these are some of the sample of the template.
