As part of an optional module, I designed a medical newspaper. The concept behind this newspaper was to provide medical news to people who were not within the field. I've found in the past that many people are confused with the terminology behind medical news. I wanted to produce a newspaper that could be read and understood by anyone, breaking up the confusing terminology and replacing it with diagrams with would help to educate the public about a variety of medical issues faced today.
It contains a vast range of information, separated by three main sections: News, Health and Life+. These sections have been separated through colour and link back to each article's main colour theme.
The target audience for this type of newspaper is rather inclusive, with perhaps more focus aimed towards young students interested in pursuing the vast field of medical science. Such a newspaper would also be distributed throughout medical practices for patients to read whilst waiting for their appointment.
It must be noted that I sourced many of the articles from online distributors of medical news, some of which I edited.
Such sources include BBC news, Medical News Today and Science Daily. Without such sources, the creation of the articles content would not have been possible.
