For my visual communication class we had to develop an origonal tatto idea supporting something relevant in our culture -- I designed my campaign around LGBTQ rights. I titled my campaign "Love is Love"

Principles of Design

I used several principles of design when creating my tattoo. I made sure to keep the design balanced by using symmetry to mirror the same weight as the other side so neither side would look too heavy. In addition I placed the only color right in the middle of the piece to balance it out. The color red is powerful and I used the color to emphasis the hearts importance in terms of love.  In terms of placement I think the tattoo would look best on the back. I choose the back because I think metaphorically its significant. For my brother at least identifying as gay kind of has been like a burden he had to carry and I think this is the case for a lot of kids today that are struggling with their sexuality. Until same-sex marriage is legal nation wide and people start excepting love for love rather than the sex of you’re partner than identifying as LGBT is always going to feel like something someone has to carry on their back.
