Starpack Awards 2015

An unsent project following the brief of Benson's group for Starpack Awards 2015. The aim was to create a kitchen herb kit containing everything to grow your own herbs at home (compost, seeds and pot). I decided to make a kit using the least amount of materials (to keep the price low) and could be easily recycled. The final outcome is 100% recyclable as it does not use any type of glue (the cardboard squares are kept in place by a cardboard 'cage') or harmful solvent to make it waterproof (the outer cellophane packaging is used to cover the inside of the box/pox)
The first two prototypes were not developed further because they were not 100% recyclable.
Following is the final outcome.
Instruction written on the back of the pot/box:

Cover the inside of the pot with the cello packaging.
Add about 3/4 of compost and place the seeds in the centre. Cover them with the ramaining compost. Water them sparingly and every two days.

Now make yourself and your friends happy with your new delicious homemade recipes!

And when you want to dispose of my basil garden - fret not!
Everything is 100% recyclable and no glue or harmul solvents were used!
