The Phoenix, though mythical, embodies a renewal of life, immortality, invincibility also having the ability to regenerate itself when wounded. The phoenix in itself represented much what was needed to be said.
The direction of the phoenix was done such as it was risen again from the ashes and about to take flight toward new life. The wings spread open to indicate the freedom and liberation whilst the color chosen was to invigorate passion and strength in that of a woman.
