Pirates of the City – The Great Chandigarh Exploration, was a treasure hunt conducted by Rotaract Club Chandigarh Himalyan on 23rd November, 2014. The theme of the event was Pirates and the designs and the clues were based on that theme.
I chose skewmorphic design since I felt that this theme could be depicted more accurately.
This was the poster for the event. The theme was Pirates and hence I tried to create the common elements of pirates - skulls, treasure chest, old/burnt paper, instruction scroll - on a map. The special thing about the poster was that a clue, marked by X and the steps, was embedded in the map of Chandigarh in the poster.
This is the design of the pass that the particpants needed to carry throughout the event. It again contains a clue marked by X on the map of Chandigarh in the pass.
This design was a teaser post to be displayed on our facebook page - facebook.com/chd.himalayan - before we announced anything about the event to create hype..
It contains a few pirate elements like a compass and a map, and also has the open hand monument which is a very popular symbol for depiction of the city Chandigarh.
