KRÓTKA HISTORIA MIASTA KĘTY
Kety is a small town located in the Lesser Poland, in the valley of Sola River, at the foot of the Beskid Maly.
The city lies at the crossroads leading from Cracow to Bielsko - Biala and from Silesia through Oswiecim to
Zywiec. From the west, bordered with forest and park, and from the east extend to Kęty Mountains. City
name probably derives from an angle - a place hardly accessible, away from the center, in a bend of the river
or the angle of the forest. The city is one of the oldest in Lesser Poland, was chartered in 1277 r. Due to its
location at the intersection of trade routes, the town witnessed events associated with a great history.

Kęty to niewielkie miasteczko, położone w Małopolsce, w dolinie rzeki Soły, u stóp Beskidu Małego. Miasto
leży na przecięciu szlaków prowadzących z Krakowa do Bielska - Białej oraz ze Śląska poprzez Oświęcim do
Żywca. Od zachodu graniczy z lasem oraz parkiem, a od wschodu rozciągają się Kęckie Góry. Nazwa miasta
wywodzi się prawdopodobnie od kąta - miejsca trudno dostępnego, oddalonego od centrum, w zakolu rzeki
bądź też kąta lasu. Miasto jest jednym z najstarszch w Małopolsce, uzyskało prawa miejskiew 1277 r. Dzięki
położeniu na przecięciu szlaków handlowych miasto było świadkiem wydarzeń związanych z wielką historią.
