OBJECTIVE
The brief was to launch Telstra’s new Mobile Wifi device to the youth market.
HOW IT WAS ACHIEVED
The market for this product is savvy enough to know the benefits of mobile wi-fi. Advertising does not need to be an educational piece on how
to connect to Facebook. Give them the deal, and deliver it in a way that's different.
We focused outdoor at universities, shopping malls and festivals. Facebook groups were engaged in online content and a contest that housed extended elements of the campaign.
We then challenged consumers to invent a mobile wifi device of their own. Chosen via online voting, there were free devices for the finalists and $5000 for the ultimate winner.

ONLINE CONTENT
Instructional videos to introduce the mobile Wifi device.
WEBSITE
Housed on Telstra's website creative was also used at point of purchce online. An animated sequence brought the graphic to life. The 'High-Tech' exploded pseudo-science illustration was match with the very everyday low -fi content.
ONLINE CONTENT
More content was made for an upgrade in the size and speed of the device. Hence, the wifi-thong needed some "pimping' to match. The sole of a high performance running shoe should do the trick.
This also served as an introduction to an online contest.

FACEBOOK CHALLENGE
Sure we proved you could 'hotspot' a thong. We engaged the public in an online contest to find out what else could be hot-spotted. Submit your entry through an FB app, and you could win $5000.
The top 200 entries received their own mobile wifi device.
ONLINE CONTENT
The top ten were chosen and then uploaded back to FB, where the eventual winner was chosen via 'Like' votes.
