Apples to Apples

Apples to Apples explores different ways in which representational drawings of natural forms can be abstracted by exploring various artistic mediums. Mediums explored included pencil, gouache, marker, crayon, charcoal and watercolour.
The piece abstracts an apple’s transition between various forms into simple line drawings. Its geometric nature is inspired by the facets created on an apple’s surface by peeling off the skin with a knife while its process of deconstruction was created with the intention to view its natural form in an unconventional way.
Some initial abstraction experiments using, gouache, water colours, pencil, charcoal and crayon.
