Book Covers
The brief: to design a “collectable” book series identity for an author. It needs to be consistent in aesthetic and typographic style and have strong dynamic shelf presence both instore and at home.
Outcome: Charles Dickens was the chosen author for this book series. The typographic style is a mixture of several fonts that are similar to those used in 19th century old English newspapers combined with hand drawn illustrations that relate to each novel. In contrast, a contemporary colour scheme for the cloth-bound spines and inside covers for shelf appeal. A box was also produced using the same typography and colour with an illustrated skyline of London that wraps around, tying the set of books and the box together.
