Chikankari 
Chikankari is a fine and intricate shadow work embroidery done by white yarn on a colorless muslin known as tanzeb or a transparent fabric. This kind of embroidery is done in Calcutta. Bhopal. Allahabad, Lucknow and Varanasi
 
Kantha 
Kantha embroidery evolved out of necessity to drape and protect against cold. It is simple running stitch made on the edges. The embroidered cloth is used as a stole and shawls for women. The traditional form of kantha was done on dhoti and sari  
Kasuti
Kasuti, one of the oldest form of embroidery done in India, is done on ilkal saris woven in the state of Karnataka the most remarkable feature about Kasuti is there is no wrong and right side of such an embroidery. it is a delicate embroidery with geometric designs which when worked very closely can make dramatic pattern  
Lambadi 
The Lambadi embroidery is an amalgam of pattern darning, mirror work, cross stitch and over locked and quilting stitches with borders of  'Kangura' patch work appliqué, done on loosely woven dark blue or red handloom base of fabric. Shells and coins are unique to this type of embroidery.
Phulkari
Phulkari is basically created on shawls and dupattas that cover the whole body it is a traditional form of art which is done in simple design with long ad small darn stitches. It retains their age old social values for they are among the treasures given to the bride on her marriage     
Pipli
Flat motif are first cut from cloth and specially prepared  motifs are made seperately. These cut and sprcially prepared motifs are  then superposed on the base fabric in a pre determined layout and sequence.
Zardosi
Zardosi is a beautiful metal embroidery which involves making elaborate designs with gold and silver threads. Further adding to the magnificence of the work are studs and pearl and precious stones. It is an ancient Persian art which has been passed down for so many generations dating back before Mughal emperor.   
Sanganeri 
Sanganeri is famous for its calico printed bed covers, quilts and saris. On a Sanganeri printed fabric usually yellow, red, blue and green are used as a background. Borders and end pieces consisted of repeated bands of undulated twines of various sizes. Fields are often covered with a repeat  design varying from small dots or geometric shapes to large complex buta and kalga.
Bagru 
Bagru is a traditional process of hand  block printing on textiles with rich natural colours. A robust f colour palette of indigo, black, red, green, pink and orange derived from natural sources and the mud resist, dyed and mordant prints of bagru catered to the folk.  
Ajrakh
Ajrakh was originally dveloped so that shephards would stand out against the harsh desert landscapes of Sindh and Kutch in contrast with the white and brown clothing they had previously worn. The process involves a lot of water. In Kutch, Ajrakh is most commonly associated with specific Muslim ethnic groups such as Anirs, Jats and Mutuvas  
Pat
Pat is mulberry silk which is found in Assam in smll quantity. It is a typical cream and white sari and can also be bleached and dyed. Various motifs and butis are woven on the sari feild and its border. 
Sambalpuri 
Sambalpuri is a traditional hand woven ikkat sari where in the warp and weft are dyed before weaving. It is known for its incorporation of traditional motifs which have deep symbolism but the high point of those saris id the traditional craftsmanship of the bandhkala, the tie-dye reflected in their intricate weaves also known as sambalpuri ikkat
