A comment on how humans pollute the environment, this triptych shows that in the process of creating the world we live in, we damage it beyond our control. Using motor oil, water, and light bulbs, the set quite literally shows pollution as it occurs.

The first image shows clean water being spilled out of a container and an unlit light bulb conveying a clean and undeveloped environment. In the second image more bulbs are present and the water is a little murky around the edges representing a world developing and pollution beginning to accumulate. The third image shows water that is filthy and bubbly but the light bulb is illuminated, depicting a thriving modern human society. This society is shown living in the environment they have tarnished through the misuse of harmful non-renewable energy sources, lack of recycling, and urban sprawl. Although some of the pollution we create is inescapable there is no excuse for the lack of use of renewable energy (especially since most of it is free) and failure to stop the production of things that can’t be recycled (styrofoam, plastic grocery bags, etc…)
