Indiafrica 2014 poster

1.   I started off my design idea with thinking about objects that makes up Johannesburg (South Africa).
These were looking at the Johannesburg City Skyline, the Gautrein and mining in general.
The black blocks (as seen below) describes how Johannesburg is still a growing city.
2.    I changed from building blocks towards gold.
3.   I changed the whole approach to words linking to Johannesburg, mostly tourist venues.
4.   Starting to finalise the project - I brought back the idea of gold - as Johannesburg is the 'City of Gold'.
All these places and things are which makes Johannesburg so unique.
5.    The final design to this poster.

Concept Note:
Just like the colours of the rainbow that meet at the pot of gold, a multitude of cultures come together in the City of Gold (Egoli).
Every place mentioned has a different vibe to it. Various cultures and identities- from up market Sandton to downtown CBD- everybody will find a place to feel at home.
The saying, there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow; suitably describes Joburg, the economic hub of Africa to its entertainment capital of Africa.
A truly world Metropolis.
