Book Port - Concept Mobile App

This is work I produced within a digital marketing assignment where I was required to design a mobile app which delivered value through content to students. I decided to create an app which would make book selling and trading cheaper, more conveniant and from a designers perspective more aesthetically pleasing. Students can list their books and search for ones they need through the app as a student only access application which provides a marketplace for the university you select (attend).

I decided to call the app Book Port, to holds obvious reference to books and reference to the usage, a place for trade. Below is the icon, I decided not to use any typeface on the icon due to the restricted visibility (Which varies amongst mobile devices) of the image on a phones screen with multiple apps present. Instead I used a generic image of a book and an element of the logo, the anchor to represent the entire title ' Book Port'.

This is the apps home screen which introduces the user to the opportunity to sign up and is their first sight of the title and slogan 'Book Port - Arrange & Exchange'

The colour scheme uses a light blue shade to offer a clean canvas for information to be displayed and the darker shades of blue show this is an acedemic application.

After signing up, the app allows you to choose what task you are looking to do, to 'Sell' or to 'Search'. This is also where the app demonstrates its concentration on simplicity and ease of use, the app was intended to make trading books easy and conveniant which is done through simple structure and minimal design.
