«Azur» is a conceptual yacht-design, which is based on work, performed in the context of the bachelor thesis in industrial design and which was subsequently further refined. In the course of this design work the technical feasibility of the concept was also analyzed and verified.
To enable the unusual design of the yacht the so called SWATH-principle (which stands for Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) has been used. Instead of the usual build-up, common with current ship designs, the yacht «Azur» provides a wide sun deck which enables a free view of the impressive waterscape. The two main side elements twist slightly from the front to the back and give the yacht its necessary dynamic look.
