Being such a huge soccer fan, I was inspired by the most recent 2014 World Cup that was held in Brazil. I grew up watching these star players, Kaká, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, most memorably during the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan, which they won. THE THREE ILLUSTRATIONS ABOVE ARE NOT MY OWN. I FOUND THEM ONLINE AND THEN ALTERED THEM BY TAKING OUT BACKGROUNDS, CROPPING, AND ADJUSTING COLORS IN ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR. THE ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATIONS WERE DONE BY AND BELONG TO CRISTIANO SIQUEIRA.
I then used the Brazilian Confederation of Football logo and made it 3-D, creating the illusion that the players were coming out of the logo.
From here, I wanted to add a touch of personality to each one, so I searched for images of each of the players' signatures and found pictures or posters with their autographs. I then traced them and layered them over the top of the crest.
My last step was to make it look like a real stamp so I looked up what Brazilian stamps looked like compared to ones from the United States and found the most common text was "Brasil" followed by the year as well as the price with the appropriate currency. The rounded square background was added to show my idea of transparency, so that it would be easier to peel and stick on an envelope than doing so with the complex shape of the crest and individual stars.
