Art Vs. Design Interpretation

This project was a two-hour project that we had to interpret our own opinions on the great controversial debate of Art & Design. The goal was to show art as design and design as art. In my interpretation I was inspired by psychadelic poster design from the 1960s and 70s. The use of type as an art form by being hand-rendered, with a pop of color. However, I chose to stick with a fairly neutral color palette to represent to modernity of design with a pop of what i believe to be old-school colors; colors from the 70s. The idea was to create an illustration (as art) and provide a message through type (design). I believe this was a successful piece and it definitely encompasses both aspects of ART and DESIGN.
