The little things
FINAL MAJOR PROJECT, GRAPHIC DESIGN

My project began because of my fascination with the little things in life. It illustrates the differences between the little things here in the western world and the ones where people dont have the same amount of money.
These little things are everyday ounces of happiness that comes into our everyday lives.

The project took a wider role when I also wanted to include materialism,
wealth differentials and consumerism.
These themes reoccurs throughout the project. The fact that we always wish for more, and at the same time throw away more things than ever, is a reaction of the materialistic world we live in.

Making of the book:

The book I made was about 47 pages long. I divided my project into 3 chapters:

Chapter 1: The little things
Chapter 2: Consumerism and materialism
Chapter 3: Poverty

This is not all of the pages in he project, but a majority
of the ones that reflects the project best. The book is handmade with hard cover.
I carefully selected paper and materials to reflect the content inside. The title is screen printed onto the hard cover with white paint. I made to samples of the book, both hard cover and with the same type of paper.
