EYEDROPS concept

The Scenario

Single portion eyedrop packaging has been, by many,  found to be lacking in usability. The packaging usually consists of a plastic capsule with a slab for graphics at one end and a nozzle at the other. The main issue with usability is that people often find the packaging cumbersome. This is all due to its slick surface, small size, and stiff material. Air in the capsule also complicates the expulsion of medicine, as it tends to interfere with liquid passing through the nozzle.

The Concept

This concept aims at solving the issues of usability when squeezing liquid out of the packaging. The concept makes use of the tail flap of the existing packaging, which is currently used solely for showing the name of the medicine. The tail flap shape is extruded and made to fold over to create leverage to aid in squeezing the package. The shape of the tail flap should provide smooth leverage when squeezing the capsule, thus eliminating the annoyance of  air blocking the nozzle and reducing the required force.
