Red Cape Cod
This is a slab-built porcelain ceramic sculpture depicting a simple cape cod house which is finished inside and out in a brilliant vermillon red. This is one of several architectural sculptures built in miniature scale for the solo show "House Works" which took place in September of 2011. These houses were a three-dimensional representation of the paintings and were informed by them to help round out the exhibition. The houses represent the many styles of architecture found in the United States which are currently being foreclosed and abandoned in great numbers. The housing crisis was a large influence on this body of work.
