One of my favorite cars from the movie Days of Thunder is the #51 Exxon Chevy Lumina driven by Rowdy Burns. Since no replica diecasts are available of the cars featured in the movie, I decided to make one. I started with a 1992 Ertl 1/18 scale NASCAR stock car diecast. I removed the body from the frame and stripped the orignal paint. I then repainted and lettered the car as it appears here. All graphics are from scratch, designed digitally and printed on waterslide decal paper. Mercury Outboards wasn't on the original movie car, but I figured if they sponsored a car in the 90's this would be it. Enjoy.
