Cultural Arts Center Gallery
Challenge:
Conviction:
Create a simple and open design from donated materials which would show off architectural boards and models. Utilize light and materiality to create simple framework to showcase architectural designs.
Participation:
I was involved in the design of the gallery space as well as in the construction. I was also involved in the budgeting and planning aspects of the design.
Consequence:
Among the people who visited the gallery were members of the cultural arts sub-committee of Champaign, the mayor of Champaign, prominent university members, students, members of the local arts community, and various community members. The exhibition assisted the cultural arts community to gain interest in the creation of a Cultural Arts District.
