Having experimented with using various shades of red and a rigger brush, exploring the page purely horizontally I left this painting to dry. Only when it had sat around for a few days did I realise I had an old illustration I did over a year ago (which didn't make it onto a calendar) I had designed (another illustration went on it instead), I thought it would work well with this. So I live-traced the illustration, and merged the two. See the original illustration below.
