Brief: Create and design promotional material for York College's 2015 degree show
Response: Our degree show is for 3 BA course's: Fashion Design, 3D Craft and Graphic Design, so i decided the best way to show this is by having some sort of motif to illustrate this point, and what better motif to base this on then the letter 'Y' symbolising the very name of the college and the city in which it's proudly based.
I wanted to use the 'Y' in an abstract modernist way hence why it appears to be cropped and slightly distorted compared to a standard letter. I fealt bright bold colours would work best to show a vibrant young generation of designers and grab the publics attention. Once I had the motif, layout and colour scheme nailed it was time to develop invites, advertisements, web banners and signange for the event as well as other exhibition materials.
