Collective Brief

Initial Ideas
•Thinking of how neighbours often get competitive when decorating for Christmas.
• They all try and out-do each other.
• Nosy neighbours.
• How Christmas brings everyone together.
• How to get people to know that B&Q is the place to go for Christmas decorations.

Print Ads
The print ads follow along the same lines as the TV ad, showing neighbours looking through curtains, over fences etc.
When creating them we thought of the tagline ‘Inspire the neighbours this Christmas’.
TV Advert
We first came up with an ad that shows a family decorating their home with items bought from B&Q, the nosy neighbours notice how good the house looks and also decide to go to B&Q and buy decor for their own home.
This eventually spreads until the end where the whole street has decorated their homes.
Digital Content
We originally thought of creating a virtual way of recreating your own street. This restricted seeing the actual reactions of your neighbours after seeing your Christmas decorations.
We then thought we could create a form of oniline game were you upload photos of your house and virtually decorate your home with products in the B&Q Christmas range. This can then be shared on various social medias so friends and family (and neighbours of course) can see how you have decorated your virtual home.
We also thought that maybe a viral video of a stunt in a residential area that would cause curtains twitching in homes in the surrounding area.

Viral Video
The viral video would essetially be B&Q constucting a Christmas shed in a resedential area and getting all the people living around it to join in with creating a Santa's grotto. If it worked it could show families enjoying the Christmas spirit and getting friendly with their neighbours.
