The Truly Devoted personal care line was initially conceived as somewhat of a departure from the minimal Gap aesthetic.  The line was going to be introduced as a more whimsical and romantic Valentine's Day collection with a "boutique" feel.  Its working name was Rose, and later French Tulips.  It was ultimately decided the line should reflect the recognizable "clean" and simple sensibility of the Gap brand.
