Peter Pan: Book Illustrations

A reinterpretation of the age old tale of Peter Pan, in form of children's comics.

This project is a mock up of what could be a modern version of Peter Pan, set in today's era. Peter is of Korean descent in this retelling, while Wendy is from an Indian family (she was born and raised in London, however). All the change was to refresh and bring something new to the story, given the original had been retold numerous times and none had done a change in ethnicity, and few had altered the time the tale was set in.

The first two pages below are chronological, however the third image is a separate scene, when Wendy first wakes up in Neverland.
Rough sketches of a scene featuring Wendy and her brothers, and a bit of their family back story. The moment she realizes her brothers have forgotten their true parents enitrely and think she is their real mother.
Materials used for comic pages:
Leaves (collage in third comic sample)
Carved experiments on wood, reference for Peter Pan Typography on cover.
Hand made calligraphy bamboo brush, the tool used to make final lineart for the cover.
