Y-Olive is a Montreal-based company that imports and distributes of a variety of gourmet food products. Yara Ikke, who runs the company, wanted us to craft an identity for her brand that was both chic and nebulous, so that the company’s image wouldn’t be limited in terms of the goods it imported. We chose yellow and green colour scheme reflecting Y-Olive’s origins — the company’s first product was an award-winning olive oil imported from Portugal currently being sold in Montreal’s finest gourmet grocers. We then had the printed materials undergo a UV spot print treatment that gave them a shiny gloss as a play on the slickness of olive oil.
