I start every single project with sketching. For this one I sketched non-stop.
Niki wanted something with a modern look, but have an old vintage feel. As she put it: 'hipsteresque.'
I then came up with three different and original custom choices. I was inspired by many different vintage logo styles. The challenge was in creating something that would read small, and watermark well. Older logo styles just have too much information and detail in them.
In the end, I came up with the idea of using her actual signature with the dot of the 'i' as a camera. It watermarks well and really became a much more personal identity than the original three.
