Este es un trabajo realizado para la facultad en donde la consigna era la de seleccionar una banda de música con un estilo musical en particular. Para que luego mezcláramos con una corriente artística del diseño la cual, los docentes de manera aleatoria nos asignaron, generando así 3 piezas graficas. Las cuales eran un poster, una tapa de Cd y el diseño que iría estampado en una remera.
En mi caso, elegí a la banda de rap “Calle 13” que mezcla estilos muy variados, tales como rap, rock, ska, cumbia colombiana, candombe, entre muchos otros. Lo cual me permitiría manejar una amplia gama de estilos y herramientas graficas para fusionar al momento en el que me asignaran el estilo grafico.
El estilo grafico que me asignaron fue el Art Deco. Este fue un movimiento de diseño popular a partir de 1920 hasta 1939 que influyó las artes tales como la arquitectura, el diseño gráfico, el diseño industrial y la cinematografía.
Aunque muchos movimientos del diseño tienen raíces o intenciones políticas o filosóficas, el art déco era casi puramente decorativo, por lo que se considera un estilo burgués.
Es fiel a su época y deja entrever la noción futurista de la Revolución industrial. Su significación gira en torno al progreso, el ordenamiento, la ciudad y lo urbano, la maquinaria. Elegante, funcional y modernista.
El art déco era un estilo opulento, y su exageración se atribuye a una reacción contra la austeridad.
Esta mezcla tan opuesta entre esta corriente artística y la banda elegida que representa principios opuestos con sus letras satíricas, con fuertes mensajes sociales sobre temas de cultura y política latinoamericana.
Luego de analizar ambos “climas”, me dio la pauta que una buena idea era fusionar esa característica en común, el mensaje de poder. El del Art Deco personificado desde la opulencia de los grandes edificios, grandes perspectivas desde lo grafico, demostrando grandeza por sobre todos, contra el de la banda, “Calle 13”, que realiza canciones con mensajes de protesta social, que justamente critica a la maquinaria, al orden impuesto, al atropello del poderoso sobre el débil y que esta banda con sus canciones les hace frente como una fuerza de poder opuesta.
Para darle un cierre mayor a la idea, de la banda misma utilicé el titulo y ciertas frases del tema “Calma pueblo” (Del disco “Entren los que quieran”, el 4° álbum de estudio) el cual es un torrente de quejas sobre la ira, la desilusión y el deseo de la libertad mundial. En donde irónicamente, su vídeo cuenta con una caravana de actores desnudos corriendo entre los rascacielos del distrito financiero de una ciudad. Que se pueden interpretar como los rascacielos a los cuales hace referencia el Art Deco en aquella época.

In order that then we were mixing with an artistic current of the design which, the teachers of a random way assigned us, generating this way 3 graphical pieces. Which were a poster, a lid of CD and the design that would be stamped on the remere one.
In my case, I chose to the band of rap " Street 13 " that mixes very varied, such styles as rap, rock, ska, cumbia Colombian, candombe, between different many. Which would allow myself to handle a wide range of styles and graphical tools to fuse to the moment in which they were assigning the graphical style to me.
The graphical style that they assigned to me was the Art Deco. This one was a movement of popular design from 1920 until 1939 that influenced the such arts as the architecture, the graphical design, the industrial design and the cinematography. Though many movements of the design have roots or political or philosophical intentions, the art déco was almost purely decorative, by what it is considered to be a bourgeois style. It is faithful to his epoch and stops to guess the futurist notion of the industrial Revolution. His significance turns concerning the progress, the classification, the city and the urban thing, the machinery. Elegant, functional and modernist.
The art déco was an opulent style, and his exaggeration assumes to a reaction against the austerity. This mixture so objected between this artistic current and the chosen band that represents beginning objected with his satirical letters, with strong social messages on topics of culture and Latin-American politics.
After analyzing both "climates", the guideline gave to me that a good idea was to fuse this characteristic jointly, the message of power. That of the Art Deco personified from the opulence of the big buildings, big perspectives from the graph, demonstrating greatness for on all, against that of the band, " Street 13 ", that realizes songs with messages of social protest, which exactly it criticizes to the machinery, to the well versed order, to the violation of the powerful one on the weak person and which this band with his songs faces them as a force of power objected.
To give him a closing bigger than the idea, of the band itself I used the title and certain phrases of the topic " Calmness I populate " (Of The disc " those who want ", 4 Enter ° album of study) which is a torrent of complaints on the ire, the disappointment and the desire of the world freedom. Where ironically, his video possesses a caravan of nake actors running between the skyscrapers of the financial district of a city. That can be interpreted as the skyscrapers to which the Art Deco refers in that epoch.
