The final Boba Fett helmet icon used to print a personal T-shirt.
I create my helmet shape from a picture of a great quality reproduction.
I usually design only one half of the shape and than I reflect it in order to preserve a perfect simmetry; in this case I wanted it.
I created shapes overlapping themselves and then I extrude them: I like to have perfectly clear graphic at the end of my work, so I usually extrude different elements.
I hate to open a working file after time only to find a busy overlap of shapes of different colors on a color background.
The T-shirt first scheme: it was just an idea to focus how big the graphic would have been.
It was also important to imagine a dark icon on a light T-shirt, because one can hardly reproduce light colors
on dark tissue with direct laser print.
In my mind the T-shirt had to be sober, it had to sum up Boba Fett in a way it is clear for whom know the charachter. It's iconic, not didactic.
