Sorry, I know there's a WIP section but I just really wanted to put this one out there!

It's currently one of the few things I'm genuinly proud of making in this past ~half year.

 

This feller is an idea I've had and have wanted to get around to making for quite some time. Now, thanks to an assignment I actually have the chance to make this character come "alive" :P 

 

It's the first character I'm ever making in Zbrush and though I may be proceeding slowly, I am learning steadily.

Maybe I'm developping and unhealthy love for Zbrush, I've allready ruined my tablet because of scultping too fiercely but I just can't stop!

 

Anyhow, I've also put the sketches for the character below, from Racial Philosogy/thumbnail sketches to my final sketch. I'll be updating this project as time progresses and I should have a coloured high-detail version of this wolf-man up pretty soon (within a month at most, depends on if/when I can get myself to stop sculpting for a bit :P)

Ok, for a bit of background on the Character (in the likely case that you cannot read my horific handwriting!)

 

This character is based of my desire to try my hand at something human, but also animalistic.

For this I've delved deeper into the world of Animism and Shamanism and focussing on the ancient cultures of Alaska, Siberia and North-American Indians. The resulting thought was this Spirit Guide in the skin of a wolf.

 

It rather soon developped into 'Haida Yuralria', the lad you see above.

To stay in close touch with my love for the Fantasy genre, I only used my research into those cultures as a guideline and I've decided to put him under classic Fantasy Archetypes... Think, Arcane Archer, (Witch)hunter, Druid and Newbie-Sorcerer :P
