Cette affiche vise à mettre en valeur les travailleurs étrangers en Suisse, qui contribuent à la prospérité du pays et pourtant sont parfois perçus comme une menace. Elle a été créée dans le cadre de l’initiative The Other Half, une réaction des créatifs en Suisse face aux votations du 9 février 2014, dans lesquelles 50,3% des votants suisses ont exprimé leur souhait de limiter l’immigration.
Le graphisme même de l'affiche est le résultat d'une hybridation: elle prend de l'affiche cubaine (mon pays d'origine) sa force dans la métaphore, et l'image du "bras musclé", souvent utilisé dans la propagande communiste. De la tradition graphique suisse, elle emprunte la simplicité, la police de caractère (Helvetica) et la structure sobre et géométrique.

With this poster I wanted to say that foreign workers contribute to the prosperity of Switzerland. Nevertheless, they (we) are sometimes seen as a problem. On February 9th 2014, 50.3% of the Swiss voters expressed their desire to limit and regulate the so called «mass immigration». Creatives living in Switzeréand created The Other Half to say the whole world that foreigners dont hurt their country.
The design of the poster is the result of a mixture: I’m Cuban so I took from the Cuban poster style its strength in the metaphor and the symbol "strong arm", often used in Communist propaganda. From Swiss graphic tradition, I took the font (Helvetica) and simple and geometric structure.
