Matariki is known as the Māori new year (Māori are the indigenous population of New Zealand). It is a celebration of people, culture, language, spirituality, and history and is signified by the rising of the Matariki star in the pre-dawn sky.
Matariki occurred at the end of the harvest season. It is now celebrated in New Zealand through a range of activities related to Māori culture.
The brief was to design a calendar and brochure that would fold into one document. The aim was to represent information in a clear and engaging way.
