Both illustrations are based on Tim Burton's poem 'Stain Boy.' In this university brief we were asked to create two illustrations that would provide a fresh take on the narrative. Unlike Burton's wonderfully creepy and strange aesthetic, I immediately imagined Stain Boy as an over-active, adventurous, and messy small boy who inadvertantly got very grubby while saving teddies and romping around with his tiger cat.

Each illustration was designed to accommodate the text of the poem.

Is it a cat? Is it a tiger? No, it's Tiger Cat.
Splish Splosh
Of all the super heroes,
the strangest one by far,
doesn't have a super power,
or drive a fancy car.

next to Superman and batman,
I guess he must seem tame.

But to me he is quite special,
and Stain Boy is his name.

He can't fly around tall buildings,
or outrun a speeding train,
the only talent he seems to have
is to leave a nasty stain.

Sometimes I know it bothers him,
that he can't run or swim or fly,
and because of this one ability,
his dry cleaning bill is sky-high.
